AI bass transcription

Generate bass tab from an audio file

Import a song or MP3 and Basstab Pro separates the bass, identifies its notes and timing, and maps the performance onto playable four- or five-string tablature.

From recording to fretboard

How the bass tab generator works

Bass can be difficult to hear inside a full mix. Basstab Pro first separates the recording into instrument stems, then analyzes the bass signal instead of guessing from the entire song.

Import your recording

Choose an MP3 or supported audio file you own or have permission to process.

Separate and analyze the bass

The analysis pipeline estimates the bass stem, pitch, note attacks, beat timing, key, and tempo. Processing usually takes a few minutes, depending on song length and hardware.

Review the generated tab

Preview the synchronized tablature in a browser. The desktop app adds playback, looping, note correction, string placement, and spot re-analysis.

Built for practice

More than static tablature

Editable note placement

Correct a detected note or move it to a more comfortable string and fret in the desktop workspace.

Synchronized playback

Follow the active position in the tab while listening to the original mix, isolated bass, or a custom stem blend.

Practice and export

Loop difficult sections, examine the fretboard, and export a clean PDF after reviewing the transcription.

What automatic transcription can—and cannot—do

Automatic tab is a strong starting point, not a claim of perfect transcription. Dense mixes, distortion, low tunings, synth bass, kick-drum bleed, and overlapping instruments can affect detection. Basstab Pro exposes editing and re-analysis tools so you can review the musical result instead of being locked into the first pass.

Privacy on desktop: local analysis keeps the original recording and generated stems on your machine by default. Only structured analysis is added to your cloud library.
