Desktop: zero server audio footprint
With the desktop app, stem separation runs locally. Original audio and stems never leave your machine — only the resulting tab JSON (fret positions, timing, chord data) is synced to your cloud library.
Zero-knowledge stem sync
For an unlocked song, enable cross-device stem sync to pick up playback and editing on another desktop machine. Stems are encrypted on your device with a vault passphrase before being synced — the passphrase never reaches our servers, and we store only encrypted blobs we cannot read.
Analysis only — not distribution
Basstab Pro generates tablature for personal practice and learning. Generated tabs are not published or shared. The platform is designed to support fair use, not to circumvent copyright law.
