Audio-to-tab workflow

Convert audio into playable bass tablature

Use a recording you already have to create timed bass tab. Basstab Pro turns pitch and rhythm estimates into string-and-fret positions you can review while learning the song.

What happens after you choose a file

The recording is prepared

Basstab Pro separates the bass from competing vocals, drums, guitars, and other instruments to create a clearer analysis source.

Notes are aligned to the performance

Pitch tracking and onset detection estimate what was played and when. Beat timing helps keep the tab synchronized with the recording rather than a rigid clock.

Notes become bass tablature

Detected pitches are assigned to strings and frets for four- or five-string bass. You can inspect and adjust those choices in the desktop app.

Use the result to learn the part

Hear the source

Compare the isolated bass with the original mix to check phrasing, articulation, and questionable notes.

Work in short loops

Repeat a difficult passage while the playhead follows the generated tab, then slow your practice down as needed.

Make it playable

Move notes between equivalent fretboard positions, correct detection errors, and export the version you want to practice.

Choosing web or desktop

  • Web preview: upload an authorized file and keep a permanent, read-only tab preview in your private library. Uploaded audio is deleted after analysis.
  • Desktop app: run free, unlimited local analysis and playback on macOS, Windows, or Linux. Audio and stems stay local by default.
  • Song unlock: one $2 credit unlocks the editing toolset on desktop or PDF download on web.

Only process recordings you own or have permission to use. Generated tabs are private and intended for personal practice and learning.
