Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Basstab Pro ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by Will Daley, collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, web application, and desktop application (together, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

CategoryWhat it includes
Account informationUsername, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
Uploaded audio and derived dataAudio files you upload or import, the separated stems, and the resulting transcriptions/tablature, stored so you can access your library later.
Payment informationProcessed directly by Stripe. We receive confirmation of purchases and credit balances, not your full card number.
Support requestsThe email address and message you submit through "Contact support," and any follow-up replies.
AI chat messagesMessages you send to the in-app chat assistant, along with relevant song context, so a response can be generated.
Usage and device dataStandard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and app version, collected through normal server logging and (on the website, with your consent) analytics cookies.

2. How We Use Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your uploaded audio to train shared or third-party-facing machine learning models.

3. How We Share Information

We share information only with the service providers needed to operate Basstab Pro, each acting on our behalf:

We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Basstab Pro, our users, or others.

4. The Desktop Application

When you analyze a song using the desktop application, audio processing happens locally on your computer, and the original audio file is not uploaded to our servers. Song metadata and your library entry are synced to your account so the song appears in your library across sessions. If you choose to enable stem sync, your local stems are encrypted on your device before being uploaded, using a passphrase-derived key that we never receive — we cannot decrypt synced stems ourselves.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and library data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or an individual song, we remove the associated library entry and stored audio/stem files, though residual copies may briefly persist in backups before they are purged in the normal course of our retention cycle.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), bcrypt password hashing, and access controls on our cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or a US state with a comprehensive privacy law (such as California), you may have additional rights, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Contact us at hello@basstab.pro to exercise any of these rights.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

Our infrastructure is hosted in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your home jurisdiction.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.

11. Contact
